Successful Program Years

Missouri Partnership is a public-private economic development organization focused on attracting new jobs and investment to the state and promoting Missouri’s business strengths. The organization works in partnership with the Hawthorn Foundation, the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the State of Missouri, and economic development agencies across the state.

Global Location Strategies was commissioned by Missouri Partnership to perform a two-year site identification search across the state. The goal of this search was to identify potential new sites that would support economic development recruitment efforts of significant industrial projects that would have a multi-generational impact on the State. Year one the focus was mega sites (1,000+ acres) and year two was 200+ acre sites.

Through an initial search, GLS identified more than 40 potential industrial mega sites. A series of analyses followed, evaluating site, infrastructure, and workforce characteristics, narrowing down to a shortlist of properties with the most potential for investment. Three sites across two communities were prioritized for additional analysis, and GLS provided a road map to develop each site to investment ready standing.

The same methodology was used for year 2, but with 200+ acre sites.

In 2021, Missouri Partnership selected two 1,000-acre sites for further investment efforts.

In 2022, Missouri Partnership selected 10 200+ acre sites for further investment efforts.
