Entergy Mississippi, a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation, provides electricity to customers in 45 counties across the state of Mississippi. With roots in our communities for more than 100 years, Entergy is a nationally recognized leader in sustainability and corporate citizenship. Entergy is headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, and has approximately 12,000 employees.
Global Location Strategies was commissioned by Entergy Mississippi to perform site audits on two mega sites located just miles apart within its service territory of Northwest Mississippi. Entergy specifically wished to evaluate whether one of the two sites should be developed into an industrial park rather than being marketed as a mega site.
The two mega sites under consideration were the Northwest Mississippi Mega Site and the Tunica County Mega Site. GLS performed a site audit on each location, which included a holistic site assessment, SWOT analysis, and evaluation of completed due diligence activities.
In 2017, the GLS team delivered the results of its site audits. The results included the optimal use for each site, targeted industries, marketed strengths, and identified weaknesses and risks Entergy would need to address and mitigate. GLS also included a list of due diligence efforts that had yet to be performed on the sites that would make them more competitive for future investment.
