Greenville, S.C.-based site selection firm Global Location Strategies (GLS) has announced that principal Tess Fay has been inducted as an associate member into the prestigious Site Selectors Guild (SSG), the world’s foremost consortium of location advisory consultants.
Guild membership represents the highest standard of the site selection industry. All members must be actively engaged as site selection professionals and adhere to a strict Code of Conduct. Fay joins GLS Founding Principal Didi Caldwell and Principal Sarah White as members of SSG, putting GLS among a small but elite group of firms with more than two members.
“Tess has been a valuable asset to our team from day one at GLS,” says Caldwell. “Her background in economic development has served both corporations and communities alike because she understands what it takes to match them for mutual, sustainable prosperity. We are proud of Tess and the well-deserved recognition she has received from her peers at the Guild.”
The mission of SSG is to advance the profession of international corporate site selection by promoting the profession and providing education, networking, and services to those involved in the industry. As the first and only group of its kind, SSG brings together a dynamic network of site selectors from around the world, combining their talent and expertise to create an invaluable resource, unmatched in its quality, for both corporations seeking site selection assistance and economic development organizations.
Fay joined GLS in 2018. Her site selection experience includes location benchmarking, property evaluation, workforce analysis, and incentive negotiations for companies in North America and around the world. Her most recent project announcement was for Trex Company, which chose Little Rock, Arkansas for the site of its third U.S. production facility.
“Over the last year I have had the pleasure of working with Tess on Project Treehouse,” said Suzanne Pardue, Director of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, Trex Company. “Throughout the process, Tess was a model of expertise, carefully understanding our requirements and crafting a process that allowed Trex to meet its timelines and goals. Her objective analysis gave our team the confidence to select the final site. Tess is an excellent representative for the site selection industry and will make an outstanding member of the Guild.”
