In many ways, manufacturing has never been doing better. Record numbers of manufacturers are optimistic about the future. Many are growing, investing, and hiring. Yet, this success is also fueling a growing crisis: too many manufacturing jobs and not enough workers to fill them. In a recent survey, manufacturers listed attracting and retaining workforce as their second biggest challenge, only behind supply chain disruptions.
Communities In Schools (CIS) is working to close the opportunity gap, empowering students to graduate and exposing them to the endless possibilities that await them. Whether it’s nurturing each student’s interests through career fairs, college visits, or industry-specific programs, CIS is taking the lead in fostering the next generation of workers.
Double the impact of your holiday giving
During this season of giving, Global Location Strategies (GLS) is inviting you, our network of clients, communities, and industry colleagues to join us in supporting Communities In Schools. Our president, Didi Caldwell, has proposed a Matching Funds Challenge to raise money to fulfill this need. GLS’ Matching Funds Challenge will be open from now through December 1, 2022. Starting with a personal donation of $500 from Didi and a matching $500 from GLS, the company will match donated funds dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.
