September 27, 2022

Global Location Strategies (GLS) has been named one of the 40 high-growth companies in South Carolina for 2022 by SC Biz News. At a special event on October 6, GLS was ranked the sixth fastest-growing small business in the state.

The Roaring Twenties awards program honors high-growth companies in South Carolina based on both dollar and percentage increases in revenue from 2019 to 2021. Twenty large companies and 20 small companies are included on the statewide list, presented annually by SC Biz News.

“Our team has been working incredibly hard keeping up with the demand for our site selection services while expanding our portfolio of tech solutions,” said GLS President and Founding Principal Didi Caldwell. “While our work spans across the globe, we are proud to call Greenville, South Carolina home and are thrilled to be included in this class of top-notch South Carolina businesses.”

While GLS’ financial growth is notable, the company’s staff also grew – from eight employees in 2019 to 15 today. In its core business of site selection services, GLS has led 11 announced projects since 2019 creating 3,926 jobs and representing $14.9 billion in capital investment. It also developed and launched two proprietary software solutions –– Site Shepherd and Lasso –– to assist customers with specialized site selection functions.

In order to qualify for the Roaring Twenties designation, companies must have a physical presence in South Carolina and be a for-profit entity or a nonprofit organization (Except for government entities and charitable organizations, including 501(c)3 organizations. These types of nonprofits are not eligible).

Company size was determined by gross revenue: A small company was considered as having $10 million and under in revenue. Large companies were classified as having over $10 million in revenue. Small companies must have had revenues of at least $500,000 each year for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021.
